Welcome back to the 2019-2020 Homeschool Curriculum Expo! Today’s featured publisher is Rosetta Stone!
If you’re here, then you probably already know how much learning a new language can benefit your child. But not all language-learning tools are created equal. Here are seven reasons that Rosetta Stone Homeschool is a cut above the rest.
They can do it by themselves.
You have a lot on your plate. So an extra hour here or there? It makes a big difference. That’s part of why parents love how students can learn completely on their own.
TruAccent, our patented speech recognition technology, will coach them through their pronunciation in real-time. Since you don’t have to know the language your child is learning, they’ll also have the chance to teach you something at the dinner table, which any parent knows can be a major plus.
You can easily check up on their success.
Enhanced reporting and monitoring tools offer peace of mind that your child is staying on track. You’ll have access to printable reports and lesson progress data that are easy to read and were custom-built for homeschool parents.
It’s a curriculum you can trust.
Rosetta Stone has been trusted for over 26 years by top organizations, ranging from NASA to the Academy for International Education. And with good reason. Rosetta Stone uses professional linguists to build the curriculum, not crowdsourcing like some free apps out there.
They’ll learn grammar and vocab through immersion… not memorization.
Whenever your student opens Rosetta Stone Homeschool, they will be fully immersed in the language. No flashcards. No conjunction charts. Instead, they’ll learn in a similar fashion as their first language. Not only will this help them feel more confident when speaking, reading, writing or listening, but it will also set them up to continue learning the language in a natural way for the rest of their lives.
It’s device-friendly.
Does your child prefer to learn on a tablet curled up in a beanbag chair in the morning, then switch to a desktop in the afternoon? Rosetta Stone Homeschool works across devices and syncs progress along the way. Even if they exit out mid-lesson on their laptop to switch to their smartphone, they’ll be able to pick up right where they left off.
They can take it with them anywhere.
One of the advantages of homeschooling is that your kids can learn anywhere. And since every lesson on Rosetta Stone Homeschool is downloadable, their language lessons can go anywhere, too.
You can turn Taco Tuesday into a review session.
While you absolutely do not have to know the language your child is learning, nothing says you can’t participate in the fun around learning a new language.
Themed dinners, field trips, and books or cartoons related to the new language are great ways to motivate your child to keep learning, improve his or her skills, and bring playfulness into the learning process. And as we mentioned earlier, Rosetta Stone’s Dynamic Immersion® methods helps students learn even after they’ve stepped away from the screen.
