GHC – General Overview

Great Homeschool Conventions produces 7 regional homeschooling conventions each year. Homeschool moms and families attend from all over the United States and Canada – remarking that these events are Equipping, Encouraging and FUN – and are truly the Homeschooling EVENTS of the YEAR!

Each of these GHC homeschool conventions has a huge homeschooling curriculum and homeschool resource Exhibit Hall that Homeschooling Moms love being able to browse and shop in.

When you’re looking for the best homeschooling resources for your children, there’s nothing quite like being able to examine a homeschool curriculum in-person, and even often ask questions of the very person that developed the resource that you are considering.

The regional GHC Homeschooling conventions also provide 100s of workshops from which a homeschooling mom or dad may choose to attend only those workshops that are most applicable for them.

GHC homeschool conventions always have a truly outstanding roster of homeschooling speakers that lead the workshop sessions at our regional homeschool conventions.

Amazing Speakers

Great Homeschool Conventions structures a fantastic speaker roster. Many speakers come from years of personal homeschooling experience. They attend the conventions because they are passionate about helping up-and-coming or seasoned homeschooling parents achieve a successful homeschooling experience. We choose only the best speakers and you will be inspired as you listen to their positive messages.

Dozens of speakers covering more than 230 speaking sessions are offered for each event! The variety of topics covered is incredible, from how to different ages at the same time to how to homeschool a gifted or special needs child.

  • Don’t know how to teach math and get concepts across to your teen?
  • How do I prompt my child to write?
  • What happens if you have a struggling reader?
  • How can I keep my kids interested in science?

These are just some of the questions that our expert speakers will be handling!

Fun Happenings!

Great Homeschool Conventions has some fun events happening. Check out Rabbit Room on the Road! Christian authors, Andrew Peterson and associates are hosting a panel get-together for a fun and interactive discussion of the love of writing and how to integrate that into your children’s everyday education.

Special Track Sessions Focused on Homeschooling Trouble Spots

Specially-focused tracks presented by true experts in their fields will address homeschooling trouble spots. Homeschooling isn’t easy. Parenting can be harder. Great encouragement and parenting tips can be found by attending our Parenting Track.

Special needs topics are addressed in our Special Needs / Gifted Track. How do you teach a child effectively with ADD, ADHD, Asperger’s, or Dyslexia? Find answers by attending this awesome track which will leave you uplifted and with a new appreciation for your child’s challenges.

Has your teen had their faith questioned by peers, classmates, or co-workers?

As homeschool parents, our responsibility is not to insulate them from life; rather, we must be very intentional in equipping them for the inevitable challenges that they will face—it’s not a matter of if they will face challenges, but when. Our Real Faith for the Real World Teen Track focuses on helping teens know why we believe what we believe.

New to homeschooling or curious about homeschooling? Our Homeschooling 101 Track will show you how to start and how to choose curriculum. Transcript preparation won’t be a mystery any longer.

We even have a Homeschool Help Desk. From those just curious about homeschooling, new to homeschooling up to three years into the journey, Colleen Kessler and Pam Barnhill are more than happy to give you direction at any stage.

Don’t know which style of homeschooling is right for you? Explore Classical education in our Classical Track. In addition to several classical sessions, you can attend a panel session by top Classical educators who have dedicated time to just answering questions on what Classical education is all about.

Who is Charlotte Mason? What is the Charlotte Mason method? Find out by attending the Charlotte Mason Track.

Shopping our huge exhibit hall gives you the opportunity to seek and find curriculum that best fits your children’s learning styles. Meet many of the authors of popular curricula and engage in conversation to find out how their curriculum can help you reach your child’s full potential.

Get a hands-on look at all your homeschooling resources.  LOTS of exhibitors have already signed up!

Hear compelling speakers tell of their incredible stories by attending a GHC special event! Douglas Gresham, Matt Walsh,  and Kris Paronto will speak from their hearts and give presentations you won’t soon forget.
