I was given a review copy of TT 3.0 and financial compensation in exchange for an honest review of Teaching Textbooks. I was not required to write a favorable review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Welcome to Day 12 of the 2018 Back to Homeschool Giveaway Extravaganza!

I’m excited today to bring you this review about a new version of the math curriculum that I have actually used for years with my own family: Teaching Textbooks. Not only am I sharing my honest thoughts of this math curriculum, but I’m giving away TWO one year subscriptions!

Of all of the things you will do as a homeschool parent, choosing a Math curriculum for each of your children is likely going to be the hardest. Adding to that, our children want to do more of their lessons on the computer, you will quickly learn that the recommendations from seasoned homeschoolers in your area may not be the best choices in today’s homeschooling if what they are suggesting isn’t keeping up! You need something that is going to benefit your child no matter what platform they prefer. That’s why Teaching Textbooks has created their latest 3.0 package! With Teaching Textbooks 3.0 your child can have the very best of both worlds! They can complete their work on the computer (or tablet), AND you can print the printable eBook to have the paper lessons to use. THE BONUS is you still use the 2.0 textbook and discs in conjunction with the 3.0 platform because ALL content matches the physical textbook!

Teaching Textbooks 3.0

Why 3.0 Rocks!

Teaching Textbooks 3.0 has everything you (and all of your homeschool friends) love about their physical book and disc set BUT better! For starters, Teaching Textbooks 3.0 is going to save you a ton! Especially if you have a large family! Instead of $120+ per child each year, you can have a complete Teaching Textbooks curriculum for as little as $25 each! (The large family discount plan for 4-8 students comes to just $16.59 per month!) Read on to learn more.

The latest version of the TT product line—the 3.0—is sold as an annual online subscription, but each subscription is only for 1 child and 1 course. The prices for these subscriptions, however, are FAR lower than the prices of [their] 2.0 products (books and discs). The price of a 3.0 subscription varies from around $43 to $67, whereas [their] 2.0 (physical) products cost around $120 to $185 depending on the grade level.

Of course, the price drop is great, especially if you have fewer children. The fewer the children, the cheaper the overall cost. But we also wanted the pricing structure to yield new advantages for larger families, those with 4 to 8 children. So we decided to cap the total annual cost to these families at $199.08. This means that large families can now convert everyone over to TT at a cost that is very close to the price of just one TT high school level 2.0 (physical) set. Also, there is no financial penalty as the number of children (within the plan) rises. In fact, the more children you have, the lower the per child cost. Do the math and you will see that for a family of 8, the per child cost is now only around $25 per year!

Teaching Textbooks has totally changed the environment of our homeschool. Math used to be the most stressful time of the day…often lasting HOURS and ending in tears. This isn’t the case any longer!

Is Teaching Textbooks is really an effective math curriculum?

I’ll let my daughter’s end of grade test results speak for themselves!

The second column in the chart is the grade equivalency- She just finished 7th grade and her mathematics composite grade equivalency is post-high school! The third column is her national percentile rank and the last column is her stanine score with 9 being the highest possible score!

It’s My First Year Trying Teaching Textbooks, Where Do I Start?

Help! My Child Will Only Work From His/Her Tablet!

Teaching Textbooks 3.0

We’ve all been there, your child has a tablet that is their very own and they no longer want to use your desktop to complete their work. Honestly, I’m not sure if I blame them. Math can be a struggle in itself, and if sitting in their hammock swing in their room is what it takes to get Math done, than that is exactly what we do, am I right? Isn’t this why we homeschool? So we can use an alternative approach whenever necessary? Absolutely!

Your child can use Teaching Textbooks 3.0 on their smart phone or tablet by using a free browser add-on that has Adobe Flash built-in. Once the browser is installed, login to the student’s account as usual. All of the details on how to use

NOTE: When your child is working from their smart phone or tablet, they should use the device in portrait view and remember to drop the keyboard to the bottom of their screen before starting each lesson. You can learn more about using handheld devices with the 3.0 platform of Teaching Textbooks HERE.
