Welcome to Day 14 in the 2017 Back to Homeschool Giveaway Extravaganza!! Today’s sponsor is Gena from I Choose Joy & Music in Your Homeschool and she is giving away entry to her brand new Music Appreciation Course for High Schoolers. It is valued at $99. Check out everything she has to offer {including some easy ideas for teaching music in your homeschool}…

I’m a homeschool mom of eight, but I’m also a music teacher. Throughout my years of homeschooling, I have discovered that homeschool moms find music to be one of the most difficult subjects to teach in their homeschools. It’s either too difficult because they aren’t trained in that area, too time-consuming, or too expensive to hire a private teacher. Today I’m happy to share some easy and exciting ways to include music in your homeschool!

3 Easy and Exciting Ways to Include Music in Your Homeschool

First, simply check books out of the library based on a particular composer (like Brahms), a musical style (like jazz), or an instrument (like the guitar). Then, just use the books as read-alouds during your morning circle time or before bed.

Second, find a ready-made playlist of a certain composer or style on your favorite music listening app such as Amazon Prime Music, Spotify, or even YouTube. Listen while you drive around, clean the house, or play games. (See 15 Ways to Use Amazon Prime Music in Your Homeschool for some more great ideas.)

Third, use a music curriculum that does all the work for you and doesn’t require you to purchase any outside materials. I have created a number of online music courses that homeschoolers are loving! There are some for younger students, as well as high schoolers who are looking for a course to take for Fine Arts courses for your homeschool
