Welcome to Day 16 of the 2017 Back to Homeschool Giveaway Extravaganza! Today’s giveaway for a fun new curriculum titled Grammar Galaxy. Check it out…

How to Have Your Kids Begging for Back to School

If talk of back to school is getting groans in your house, you need a new approach – one that can have your kids begging to get back to school. Impossible, you say? Not if you make sure your homeschooling lessons have three key characteristics:

#1 Fast

Long lessons are sure to create grumbling, especially when you’re just beginning your homeschool year. Keep lessons short, even if your kids are enjoying your studies, so they will ask for more. One easy way to keep the school day short is to add one subject a day, working up to a full schedule.

#2 Easy

No one likes to do work that is too difficult or emphasizes weaknesses. Save the particularly challenging lessons for later in the year. If you have a student who lacks confidence, suggest that you aren’t sure if material is too hard (when you know for a fact it isn’t). Kids love discovering that something is easy for them and motivation blooms. They’ll be ready for more of a challenge as the school year progresses.

#3 Fun

Just because a lesson is fun, it doesn’t mean your child isn’t learning. Typically, the opposite is the case. We remember learning that’s enjoyable and forget lessons that are dull. Our students do have to learn the discipline of hard work, but keep the beginning of school fun to get them on your team.

How to Make Language Arts

Your Child’s Favorite Subject This School Year

Reading and writing skills are critical to your child’s education and even life success. Fortunately, they can be easy and fun to learn, even if your child has dyslexia or dysgraphia.

Grammar Galaxy isn’t a typical elementary language arts curriculum that drills the same concepts over and over and kills kids’ enthusiasm for reading and writing. Instead, it uses the power of story to teach key concepts. The royal English family lives in Grammar Galaxy and has to complete missions to defeat their enemy, the Gremlin. The stories are funny, so kids not only learn literature analysis, spelling concepts, vocabulary, grammar, and how to write, they remember!

In just ten to fifteen minutes a day, three days a week, your child will be motivated to read and confident in their language arts skills. The lessons are so short and entertaining (a game or activity that doesn’t involve seatwork is included each week) that most kids beg to do Grammar Galaxy every day!

Here’s what one mom wrote about her boys (pictured above in the vests she made for them) using Grammar Galaxy:

I really can’t say enough or put into adequate words just how much Grammar Galaxy has changed our entire homeschool experience. Other subjects like history, science, health, etc. have become so much easier to teach now that their reading ability and comprehension has improved. They actually ask to dress in their vests the minute they see the mission manuals come out, and wish they could work in them every day.

Another mom wrote:

You really did it. You truly made grammar fun. I didn’t think it was possible but you obviously deserve some kind of medal! THANK YOU!

Grammar Galaxy: Nebula is volume I, designed for 1st and 2nd graders who are reading at a beginning level. Protostar is for 3rd graders or those who have mastered the concepts in Nebula. Most students should begin with Nebula because it motivates, provides a foundation in all areas of language arts, and is just plain fun.

You or your student reads a story in the text (storybook) and completes the corresponding mission in the mission manual (workbook). The digital version of this two-book set allows you to make copies for all students in a family. Print versions ship free everywhere. Print orders shipped in the U.S. include erasable highlighters kids go crazy for!

This giveaway is for the Nebula kit (text and mission manual) in the winner’s choice of digital or print. Enter to win and then download a free lesson to try while you wait. To enter, simply complete the Rafflecopter form below. All entries will be verified. The giveaway period will close on Monday 8/14/17 at 11:59pm EST. The winner will be announced via email the following day. Good luck!
