This post is for letter “S” in the 2016 ABCs of Homeschooling Through the Holidays series.
I love using unit studies and fun projects to get us homeschooling through the holidays. It’s the perfect time to have a change in homeschool curriculum because it is easy to get into a monotonous rhythm.
I like creating my own worksheets that my kids can use that are theme based. I created these snowman writing worksheets since she’s working on writing her letters. We’re taking the time to trace out the letters with our fingers first and then she can practice on paper. My son’s kindergarten teacher use to do this with her class and it works so well for my other kids to help them form the letters properly.
Print out the snowman writing worksheets to have your child practice writing the letter S and T. If your child is not interested in writing it out, write it out on a tray of rice or sand or pudding. Who said writing had to stick to paper and pencil? Make it fun.
Have you read any of these snowman books? They’re a great read for any age. I love winter because it means Christmas will be here soon. Don’t just focus on the worksheets, read snowman books, create a snowman craft and build your own snowman. If there’s no snow yet, why not create your own Snowman Sensory bin.
