As a busy mom of two, I’m always on the hunt for recipes that can pull double duty. If I can make something that my kids can eat for breakfast or for a snack, I’m all in. Bonus points if the recipe is quick and easy to make, tastes great and is healthy to boot.
That’s where these amazingly yummy Cherry Chocolate Chip Granola Bars come in. This simple recipe can be whipped up in about 15 minutes and if you have kids you probably already have most of the ingredients on hand. They are perfect for breakfast or for a mid-morning, afternoon or bedtime snack. They’re also way healthier than the prepackaged ones you buy in the store, but they definitely do not lack in flavor at all. Even my youngest loves these.
Once these delicious little slices of granola are set and ready, I usually wrap them individually in small snack sized zip top bags or plastic wrap because they are a great on-the-go snack too. Ready to get cooking?
I am a huge fan of the chocolate chip cherry combo (and so is my family), but if you’re not, you really can add whatever you want this recipe. You can make a simple swap and add in cranberries rather than cherries. Or, skip the fruit altogether and add in some peanut butter chips with the chocolate for a really sweet treat. For a healthier option, add some raisins and sunflower seeds –and skip the chocolate chips– for a yummy trail mix granola bar!
