Homeschooling brings a freedom with it that our family quite enjoys. We love taking the last six weeks of each year to focus on gift making, cooking and baking, and other holiday fun. Today, I’d like to focus on the gift making and more specifically, gifts made with washi tape!
We are huge fans of washi tape in our home. I have grown quite a collection and we love finding ways to use it. I’ve rounded up a collection of ideas for using washi tape in your homeschooling this holiday season.
We made these cute washi tape ornaments after reading a fun board book called Paris: A Book of Shapes. Most of my kids can make these independently, my three year old needed help with cutting the shapes out and tying the knots.
These would make a great gift for gifting to friends. The possibilities are only limited by your washi tape selection. There are a lot of options available, including superheroes, cartoon characters, and just general holiday patterns. When laminated, these are very durable and would make a great gift for reading grandparents, too.
Another great option for friend-to-friend gift giving. And easy. Don’t forget easy. Easy is my bread-and-butter of crafting with my kids.
These can be a simple craft you make with your preschooler or an older child could make some that coordinate with a picture book. Pair the puppets with a copy of the picture book and gift it to a preschooler.
Creating thank you cards now means you will have them on hand when the gift-giving starts. These would be easy to dress up and make holiday-specific if you use red, green, and gold washi tape and stickers. Or you could go winter with blue, white, and silver.
A cute gift option for a high school or college aged cousin, baby-sitter, or Sunday School teacher. Do them in school colors and add some of the washi tape covered pencils from above and you have fun little gift.
Customize your gift bags with washi tape. There are a lot of options, I know, I sound like a broken record. Check out that post for several ideas to get you started.
Washi tape is a fun and versatile little supply. Pick some up from a craft store or pop over to Etsy and give these easy crafts a try! You could end up with some fun gifts!
