When I was growing up, both Abraham Lincoln’s and George Washington’s birthdays were a holiday – schools and banks and some businesses closed.  Sometime in the 1980s the transition was made to celebrate on one day, calling it President’s Day (the third Monday in February).  This day looks different in different states – celebrating the two presidents with birthdays in February (Washington and Lincoln), or all the presidents.  It is also promoted as a big weekend for sales.  Whatever it looks like in your state, it is a great topic to focus on in your homeschool.  These resources will get you started:
