How has the progress in your homeschool been so far this school year? Are you ahead of schedule, a little behind, or do you simply have no clue? Yep. I’ve been there too.

After homeschooling for a few years and feeling completely unorganized around this time of the year, I had finally had enough. I had to get organized and part of that process was assessing our homeschool progress. So, now I take a few hours one day during our Christmas break to do a mid-year review of our homeschool.

This involves tracking our attendance, assessing curriculum choices and re-evaluating our goals for the year.

The process has been refined many times and I finally have a system that works well for me.

I use these mid-year review forms that I created. I print one for each child and really put quite a bit of thought into what is working well and what isn’t {especially speaking of curriculum because there simply is no reason to continue using something that isn’t working}.

Each form contains:

  • attendance tracker
  • space for you to evaluate your curriculum
  • space to write any curriculum changes that need to be made
  • tentative homeschool schedule
  • goals for the year
  • field trip plans
  • books to read list
  • special projects
