I originally shared this challenge one year ago. As the holiday season approaches, I feel like it is important to take the challenge again, so I am revamping the posts in the series and reigniting my passion to live intentionally. Will you join me?
I’m wasting my days.
These precious, numbered days are truly gifts from God and I’m throwing them away.
I don’t mean to.
I wake up each day with good intentions. Intending to be the wife and mother I’m created to be, but by mid-morning, I’ve already blown it. I’ve snapped at the children, ignored my husband and forgotten to have my quiet time with Jesus.
Does this sound familiar?
Judging from multiple emails and comments I’ve received from my awesome readers, many of you are struggling too.
We are an overwhelmed, stressed out, over-committed, on the brink of collapse hot mess.
We can’t shake those feelings that this just isn’t the way life is supposed to be.
How did we become this way?
My guess is that we are involved in too many things and yet are intentional about nothing.
We must take an inventory of our lives and see where our priorities lie.
We have to clear out the clutter, and put the things of first importance where they belong: FIRST.
It’s time stop spending our time on the wrong things and focus on the things that will last forever.
Join me in this challenge: Learning to live an intentional life.
What does an intentional life look like?
Over the next three weeks, I’m challenging myself to answer that question.
I fully believe that the key to living intentionally is by simplifying our lives. So, the first few days of the challenge that is what we will be doing.
We will be de-cluttering three major areas of our lives:
- our surroundings
- our schedules
- our minds.
The next few days, we will focus on being an intentional Christian woman. Many times, life gets busy and our private time with God is the first area to be neglected, but when we neglect the most important relationship of all, every area of our lives suffer. This week, we will dive into Scripture and examine the life Jesus calls us to live.
During the next part of our challenge, we will learn to be an intentional wife. Our marriages are so very important and it’s time we start placing priority on this relationship. This week we will discover where we need to work and how to be the spouse God calls us to be.
Finally, during the last few days we will focus on learning to be an intentional mother. We will explore what is robbing our children of our quality time and will learn how to be “all there”.
There will be 13 posts in this series. Each post will include a challenge for you (it could be something to think about or an activity to complete). The end of each post will also include a link up where you can link to your own posts about these topics and/or your thoughts or progress in the challenge.
Ladies, our time is the most valuable gift we can give to those we love. Let’s learn to make the most of the time we’ve been given.
What do you say?
Three weeks to a better life…will you join me?
