With the presidential election quickly approaching, I am finding it important to find fun and educational ways to include my children in the election process. In addition to holding a mock election, and completing an election lapbook, and now diving into an election online unit study, I still wanted to find another fun way to apply what they have been learning.
My family loves board games, so I thought a board game that highlights different aspects of the election process would be a great way to teach them about the upcoming election. If your children love hands-on learning, this Presidential Election game is perfect for them!!
The object of the game is to be the first person to reach the finish line and become the new president.
Players will choose a pawn and roll a die, moving their player around the game board following the instructions on each space. The game board includes “take a card” space in which players will have to complete the action on the card they draw before moving on. These cards include actions such as: “Share your tagline or slogan” and “Hum the presidential tune, “Hail to the Chief”.
This game is a fun way to teach your children about the campaign trail and election process.
The Presidential Election game includes:
- printable game board with instructions
- 15 printable action cards
- 24 printable player pawns
*You will have to supply your own dice.
